About This Course
Our Great Books course invites students into conversation with history's most influential thinkers. Each week, students read carefully selected excerpts from foundational texts: Plato's dialogues, Shakespeare's plays, Adam Smith's economics, Descartes' philosophy—and come to class prepared to discuss, debate, and defend interpretations.
